Pressure & Soft Washing, San Juan Island

Pressure where pressure belongs, soft washing everywhere else. The difference matters.

  • Licensed & bonded
  • WA L&I #SANJUJI741OT
  • Insured
  • Locally owned in Friday Harbor

Everything out here grows a green film. Walkways get genuinely slick by February, and north-facing siding goes from cream to gray-green over a couple of seasons.

Two different jobs, and the difference matters. Hard surfaces — concrete, pavers, stone — take actual pressure. Siding and painted surfaces need soft washing: low pressure and a cleaning solution that does the work. Pressure washing siding drives water behind it and strips paint, and I won’t do it.

Common questions

Best time of year?

April through September. You want it dry enough to actually dry afterward.

Will it damage my siding?

Not if it’s soft washed, which is what siding gets. Anyone bringing a pressure wand to painted cedar is going to cost you a paint job.
